Veterans Helping Veterans
I believe those who served, no matter in what capacity, deserve our support. Here are a few organizations that helped me along the way. I hope they can help someone else with their goals.

Leader Transition Institute
The Leader Transition Institute (LTI) was launched in 2018 after the first session of what has become its flagship program, Changing Focus: Moving From We to Me. The program, designed for service members, veterans, and their spouses within 24 months of transitioning from active duty to the civilian sector, fills the gaps left by the DoD-mandated transition programs. At that first session, held near Baltimore, MD, the teaching team learned that First Responders and Educators would benefit from a similar program, so they decided to develop an organization with room to grow. LTI has worked with emerging and executive leaders to help them improve their abilities to communicate and lead. Simultaneously, the LTI Academy provides a variety of self-paced and cohort-based courses for individuals and LTI’s Maxwell Speaker Club.

VetSec
VetSec started in 2018 as a Slack community to support veterans in cybersecurity. The founders saw the value in a veteran-oriented community within the cybersecurity industry. They saw the problems facing servicemembers separating from the military with unemployment and the growing skills demand within the cybersecurity industry; in short, a fast-growing skill gap that could be solved by better employing our veterans. VetSec saw the importance of a community-based approach first and foremost. They also committed to providing services at no cost to service members, and thanks to the hard work of the board and member generosity, they remain free to join, and all resources remain free to members.

US VALOR
US VALOR is a non-profit focused on humanity and providing respect and hope to U.S. veterans who have made great sacrifices for their fellow countrymen and around the globe. People may have heard of or know of a military veteran who experienced a difficult time adjusting back into society following their service, a veteran who became disabled, or someone killed in action during their tour of duty. Without a doubt, these veterans and their families experience mental and physical pain, isolation and eventually spiral into a depressive mental state. US VALOR provides hope, and a pathway, for their survival and general well-being in what can be an unfriendly and often unthankful world that surrounds them.
